Currently we have an immediate need to add an experienced:

Application and Data Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA (on-site client environment)
Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
Compensation: Competitive, Excellent Benefits

In this role you will apply your technical skills to help accelerate the reliable and secure development of open-source data, information, and insights into new applications. We require an application to maintain and enhance operations on an existing data collection and data enrichment platform. Your work will provide enhancements to an existing service-based Java web application.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Must maintain active/current TS/SCI with a polygraph clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining secure Java8+ web applications using the Spring framework, React, and Typescript.
  • Experience managing application state using MobX or other state management solutions, or similar solutions within a TypeScript/React environment.
  • Deep understanding of NodeJS, Elasticsearch, Database Management including Relational Databases (RDS), version control systems such as Git, and building ETL pipelines for very large datasets with production-grade reliability.
  • Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript for backend development (including NodeJS frameworks, like Express, async/await, Promises, etc.), and familiarity with the ElasticSearch JS/TS client.
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting and programming, with strong skills in Python, Bash, or Go, as well as SQL, and experience optimizing complex queries where relevant to upstream data modeling.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform, and a mastery of AWS best practices and cloud networking.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, such as Git-based workflows, Terraform pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with encryption at rest, IAM (Identity and Access Management), policies or roles, secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), network segmentation, as well as disaster recovery and capacity planning for large data sets.
